Featured Resource: Veritas Handbook
The Veritas Handbook is an extensive handbook containing vital information and resources for anyone and everyone interested in the plight of Palestinians for justice and equality.
The Handbook consists of five sections:
- A Concise History of Palestine
- Commonly Asked Questions
- Perspectives and Debates
- Appendices: sources for accurate information, solidarity organizations, links to printable posters and pamphlets, human rights reports, primary sources, and more
- Extensive Bibliography
For more how-to resources like those described in the handbook, see our own own wiki-based activist handbook series, our current resources page, and our forthcoming resource database. The database, which will provide easy access to thousands of resources from around the web, is nearly ready—but we need your help to complete it. If you're interested, please consider volunteering with PFP.
PFP Formally Endorses BDS Call
The four years that have elapsed since PFP was launched have seen massive changes within the global Palestine solidarity movement. Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) campaigns have evolved from a niche segment of activity to being the unifying force behind the bulk of international solidarity activism, reflecting the consensus position of Palestinian civil society.
When PFP first came into being, our movement was plagued by factionalism, and we made a deliberate choice to bypass these divisions by adopting a policy of non-alignment. This meant that we maintained no political platform, endorsed no statements, and joined no coalitions. The nature of our focus—providing tools and resources to support other grassroots activists, rather than mounting campaigns of our own—made it easy to maintain such a policy.
The 2005 Palestinian civil society call for BDS has come to provide our movement with the unity it once lacked, and we believe that a policy preventing us from endorsing that call is outdated and unnecessary. As activists around the globe celebrate the 5th anniversary of the call on July 9th, the Palestine Freedom Project congratulates its authors and proponents, and proudly joins its growing list of endorsers.
Volunteers and Interns Needed!

The Palestine Freedom Project is now accepting applications for Fall, 2010 internships. This year, in addition to our regular internship program, we are pleased to offer a limited number of "Synergy Internships" in which participants may spend up to fifty percent of their hours working on tasks related to their own local campaigns. Interns may also choose a specific focus for their internship, such as BDS organizing, event planning, research, web development, or fundraising.
These positions offer the opportunity to gain valuable experience and acquire cutting edge organizing skills. Many of our interns have leveraged their experience with PFP to land prestigious positions at leading advocacy and humanitarian organizations. Learn more about volunteering or interning with PFP, and apply for internships online.
Powerful Resources for BDS activists
The world of Palestine solidarity activism just got a little bit smaller... in a good way! We've launched two great new features that activists have been clamoring for: a searchable directory of Palestine solidarity organizations around the world (about 2000 and counting!) and Wikipedia-like tool for collaboratively developing activist skills documentation—the next step in the evolution of our acclaimed handbooks!
Anyone can search the directory, submit additions or changes to the listings, or view the wiki. However, to edit wiki content, you'll need to register for a free account.
