Ali Abunimah
Ali Abunimah is co-founder of The Electronic Intifada, an online publication about Palestine founded in 2001. He has written hundreds of articles, many of which have been published in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, Aljazeera.net among many others. He is frequently called on by national and international media for his expertise on the situation in Palestine.
He is author of the book One Country, A Bold Proposal to End the Israeli-Palestinian Impasse (Metropolitan Books), which argues that a single state in historic Palestine, granting equal rights to Palestinians and Israelis, is the outcome most likely to provide justice, peace and a sustainable life for everyone in the country.
Abunimah has contributed chapters to numerous books, most recently Midnight on the Mavi Marmara (OR Books), and The Goldstone Report: The Legacy of the Landmark Investigation into the Gaza Conflict (Nation Books).
Abunimah was born in the United States and grew up in Europe. Since 1989 he has lived in the United States. Both of his parents were born in Palestine, his mother in a village near Jerusalem in an area that is now in Israel, and his father in a village in the Occupied West Bank, near Bethlehem. He received his BA from Princeton University and MA from the University of Chicago.
