Mark Lance
Mark Lance is Professor of philosophy and professor of justice and peace at Georgetown University—where he teaches courses in mainstream philosophy as well as courses on nonviolence and anarchism—and has been an activist/organizer for 20 years on a wide range of social justice, peace, and human rights issues. He publishes in academic venues on logic, philosophy of language, epistemology and moral philosophy, and is a regular contributor to activist publications as well. He is on the board of the Institute for Anarchist Studies and coeditor of Perspectives on Anarchist Theory.
Prof. Lance has been involved in the Palestinian struggle since the 1980s, when he helped form solidarity groups in Syracuse NY and Washington DC, and helped coordinate a successful campaign to end tear gas sales to Israel. More recently he was a co-founder of Stop US Tax-Funded Aid to Israel Now. He is a frequent speaker on the issue, having addressed dozens of universities, major conferences, rallies, activist teach-ins, and the United Nations.
